Once in a while, we have the opportunity to meet someone whose sole goal in life is to serve. I count as a privilege and a blessing to have the chance to spend time or work with that person. Paul Lumpkin was that type of man. His demeanor and gifts caused him to excel at his job with the Home of Grace. This past week has been filled with countless telephone calls telling of how Paul made a difference in the lives of so many.
Paul, I want to personally thank you for your attitude and your selflessness. You showed kindness to everyone you met. Most of all, you pointed others to Christ. Thank you. You will be missed.
Paul L. Lumpkin passed away on Jan 12, 2009 at 11:05p. Funeral Arrangements have been made with McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune, MS. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 2p on Tuesday, January 20th. The family has asked that we keep them in prayer as they grieve.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY HOW MUCH PAUL HAS BEEN A GREAT INFLUNENCE IN MY LIFE. I REMEMBER MANY NIGHTS WE WOULD SIT OUTSIDE ON THE BENCHES AND HE WOULD ENCOURAGE ME TO BE ALL THAT I COULD FOR CHRIST. HE WAS ONE OF THE MANY PEOPLE THAT HELPED ME GET THROUGH MY FIRST MONTH AT THE HOME. I COULD TALK TO PAUL LIKE I KNEW HIM ALL MY LIFE. IF YOU DIDNT GET THE CHANCE TO KNOW HIM YOU JUST WAIT TILL YOU GET TO HEAVEN AND DISCOVER WHAT A WONDERFUL FRIEND AND MAN PAUL IS. PAUL YOU WILL BE MISSED AND YOUR FAMILY IS IN MY PRAYERS.

I am the mother of 2 sons which spent time at the Home of Grace this past year. In some of "my personal darkest moments", I will never forget the man with the smiling face which met us upon our arrival. He was Paul Lumpkin! A man which I came to know, respect and love!I will praise the Lord because He put such a WONDERFUL MAN in our path at such a dark moment in our lives!Paul's life ,itself, was a wittness to Jesus Christ that no matter what the odds are against someone,Jesus can tranform that life into GLORY!
I would like to say what Paul did for my life. After a long dark road of bondage, I arrived to the Home of Grace. I didn't know what to think when I arrived. All I knew was that my brother had completed the program a few months before I arrived. Paul was the type of man that would sit you down and tell about what our Lord Jesus Christ had done for him. He was so inspiring and such a great man in Christ. I will always cherish the moments i had with Paul Lumpkin. I will miss you!
When i came to the Home of Grace i was a broken man. i was so ready to give up on life and Pahul came around and had such a passion for life. When i was ready to give up he would just be there as a friend someone to talk to. He was always the one you could look at and see the Holly spirt shinning through him. He was an inspiration in my life to stay sober and I am so grateful for that. I know he was welcomed with open arms when he got to heaveans gates and I look forward to one day being reunited with him in Heavean. it was a privelage to get to know him. He Blessed my life and i will continue to pass that blessing on, he is still looking down on us and alive through all of us. God Bless
I am so honored to be called a FRIEND by Paul. He was a very special friend of mine. They were very few days that went by that he didn't come by my and Cornel's office and say " I'm a Child of the King" and then would smile and go sit on the couch. He and I would maybe have a serious talk or we maybe would just laugh about something. I do know this, God called Paul to be at the Home of Grace to serve. Man did he serve those men, and they loved him. I don't think I know one that didn't like him. He was such an inspiration. Talking about Jesus Christ was his main job which led to leading those men to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord. That just made him complete. One day I will get to see him again, but until, Paul I will miss you and your smile (tiger).

I made a lot of great friends while at the Home, Paul was certainly one of them. Daily when I pray for guys at the Home, Paul is one of the faces that I see in my mind as I pray.
My prayers go out for Paul's family.... However, I am rejoicing that Paul is now with the KING!!!
Paul , thanks for being such a great friend. Until we meet again .
Just wanted to say it was a pleasure working with Paul. He was a man of God, a soldier of Jesus Christ. Evertime me and Paul looked at each other we would grin at each other, it was'nt because of a joke. We knew our destination, we knew we were plucked out of the world and when I looked at Paul I could see Jesus Christ, man did it make me smile. Paul was a simple man and a great friend. He also loved his job, he loved the men at the Home of Grace, and also loved his family very much. Paul was a man of integrity, He walked the walk. I am privileged to have known such a man. Right now Paul is experiencing what 2 cor. chapter 5speaks about. Paul thanks for blessing me with your charm, your wits, your love for Christ and your friendship. You will be missed dearly and I will never for you as long as I live. Thank you Lord for letting us know in your Word that Paul is O.K. now !!!
It is an honor to have known Paul. I met him in 2007 when I came to the Home of Grace. He bestowed upon me nothing but kindness and joy. I will remember the times he would come hang out in our room with us and e would just talk. He has touched many lives and will continue to from his new home. Heaven. It brings tears to my eyes to think of how short our lives are on this earth, but the reward for our time here is indescribable. Paul is now living the indescribable. May the Lord be with his family at this time and to all who knew him.

Paul was evidence of how Jesus can change a life. He was passionate about what Jesus did for him and about sharing it with others. Paul had a gift. He was genuine, truly kind and benevolent. I have many fond memories of Paul. It probably took him hours to make his rounds at night. He would stop in almost every room sit down, talk, eat and laugh with us. Good times. I am sorry for the future people that get to come to the Home of Grace because they will not get to meet him. Paul, miss you buddy, but we will see you again!

Paul was a great guy he talked me out of leavin the program at the time i was there.he was always there to talk to me when my head was down he would pick it up i will miss greatly and his family is in my prayers- Daniel Mothershead-
There were was never a moment that I can remember that Paul Lumpkin wasn't overflowing with a zeal for jesus and for his calling at the home of grace. He was very instrumental in my days of early christanity. He was there with encouraging words those first few weeks at the home whenever the enemy was coming against me with sucidal thoughts and ideas. But, when you see a man every day and he is always happy when there is a lot he could be complaining about, how can you not give JESUS a shot. Now that I look back on my stay at the home paul was a viable assest to me and my new life. Paul I love you and you truly will be missed. We will meet again.

Paul died!!??? No way!! This is most shocking and saddening. I'm a little speechless after reading this news, and overcome with emotion. Paul was a great guy and I loved hanging out with him during the time I was at the Home of Grace. He was a staff member, but he was everyone's friend, moreso than many of the guys there. He would come in our room sometimes late at night and just talk about life with us. I remember those times with vivid fondness, one of the high points of my stay there. Sad, sad.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his son Gregory, Education is the key to sucess study ...hard in college!
